Three words that are not usually strung together in the same thought.

Have you ever noticed that our world is made up of three kinds of people? Those who understand math and those who don’t. But you don’t need to be a math wizard to understand some basic numbers.

An equation… the measure of the generosity of our fundholders multiplied by the future potential of these wonderful and gifted students equals infinite promise.

You can easily tell that our college scholarship award winners have a vision and they will acquire the skills to do great things. And it is great things that we expect from them. Our scholarship fundholders have a vision that is truly inspiring.

Giving a onetime charitable gift today may be nice, and it is. But making a gift that will continue to be made every year in perpetuity- that is transformational.  And it is the true definition of philanthropy.

There is a quote, that describes our fundholders, “Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes time. But vision combined with action, now that can change the world.” By creating these scholarship funds our fundholders are using these outstanding students as their legacy to make this world a better place.

It is our mission that brings us all together.

“Guided by our faith and traditions, the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation seeks to improve our community and the world by empowering the philanthropic vision and passions of our fundholders and community partners.” Our college scholarship program is evidence that this mission is being fulfilled.

Mahatma Gandhi said the future is built entirely on what we do today. Then to our scholarship recipients, our fundholders, our committee members, our committee chairs, our trustees, officers, our chairman, and our staff, thank you, thank you for doing what you do today, because you are building a bright and noble future for tomorrow.
