2007 LOJE and PAGE Honorees

The weather was balmy, the crowd beautiful, the event professional, the speakers charming, the evening an unqualified success.  It was a time to honor the personal commitment of Lion of Judah and Pomegranate women donors to the Jewish community.

If you were in attendance Monday evening, February 5, at the Stanley Korshak store at The Crescent Court, you can recall the warmth of the feelings present, even before the speaker began spinning her stories.  Featured guest speaker Amy Hirshberg Lederman shared how she transformed herself from a “recovering lawyer” to a writer, speaker, and syndicated essayist. The event more than lived up to its billing as “an evening of wisdom and inspiration.”

Peggy Tobolowsky, winner of a 2006 UJC award for endowment accomplishment and board chair of the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation, hosted the LOJE (Lion of Judah Endowment) and PAGE (Pomegranate Annual Gift Endowment) candle-lighting ceremony.  She listed five ways others could join those called forward to light candles as symbols of endowing their annual gifts.  Twinkling in the clean, beautiful lines of the Korshak store, the candles signified the illumination of the future the gifts represent.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas’ Nancy Immerman and Sam Kennealy helped organize the event. “Thank you” gifts at the end of the evening were bags of kosher cookies carefully prepared by caterer Lowell Michaelson and an autographed copy of the book, “To Life! Jewish Reflections on Everyday Living,” by Ms. Lederman.
